Learn more about Microdermabrasion

Why is deep exfoliation necessary?

Your body is continuously producing new cells to replace those that naturally die off. As we age cellular turnover slows down, especially skin cells. This slower turnover and excessive dead skin laying on the surface is one of the causes for dull, lacklustre, unhealthy, or wrinkled skin. Additionally, dead skin cells clog your pores and create blockage, wreaking havoc for your skin.

Exfoliating both removes the old dead skin cells and speeds up cell renewal enabling new healthy skin cells to grow and better product penetration.

Is microdermabrasion painful?

No. Because the procedure uses tiny aluminum oxide crystals to gently exfoliate the skin, microdermabrasion should not be painful or leave the patient with any lingering discomfort. However, microdermabrasion does cause a mild warming or tingling sensation that most patients describe in positive terms.

How long will a treatment session last?

A microdermabrasion treatment typically lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. Patients should see improvements in their complexion after a single treatment, but lasting results are only achieved through a series of sessions performed over the course of several weeks.

What type of results can I expect following treatment?

The results of microdermabrasion can be seen almost immediately. Just one microdermabrasion session can improve the skin's color, tone, and health. After treatment, the face should have a fresh appearance and a smooth, soft texture. However, the microdermabrasion system is most effective when a patient receives multiple treatments at intervals of two to four weeks.

Is microdermabrasion safe?

Yes. One of the important benefits of microdermabrasion is its safety. It is a non-invasive procedure with minimal risks. When performed by an experienced aesthetician or skin therapist, microdermabrasion can significantly enhance the complexion without affecting the deeper layers of the skin.

Can I return to work after a session?

Yes. Microdermabrasion is often referred to as the "lunch hour facial" because the procedure is so brief and the side effects are hardly noticeable. After a microdermabrasion treatment, your skin should look and feel refreshed, and be only slightly flushed.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion:

  • Improves oily or dull skin

  • Minimizes enlarged pores

  • Reduces clogged pores and pimples

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

  • Minimizes acne scars

  • Treats Acne, pigmentation and uneven skin texture

  • Increase product penetration up to 50%

  • Improves cell production/renewal, which improves skin’s elasticity and collagen production. Thus  help the dermis create a new layer of skin that looks fresher and renewed
